Specialties

We specialize in homemade breakfast meals, from biscuits and gravy to a customized omelet. For lunch, we proudly feature the Boars Head brands of deli meats and cheeses for our Grilled Paninis and Hoagies. We also offer Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. Our homemade sauces take our sandwiches to the next level. With our inhouse sauces, your sandwiches will keep you coming back for more. We also specialize in a wide variety of CREAM PUFFS, from the traditional Vanilla and Chocolate fillings to the more exotic flavors such as Calamansi (a citrus fruit from the Philippines) and Gianduja (a popular milk chocolate & hazelnut blend from Switzerland).

History

Established in 2009.
Started as a catering company servicing businesses in Overland Park, Lenexa and Olathe; offering a different weekly menu of international cuisines. Today, we still cater to our corporate clientele over and above having our small restaurant.

Owner

A home cook for over 20 years, Tina has been inspired by 2 generations of home cooks from her grandmother and her mother. Her family has been in the food industry since 1983 and has been very active with the family's business in the baking industry until 1999 when her family started growing.
Wayne and her children have been her biggest fans until her co-workers talked her into cooking for them on a regular basis. Since The Wooden Spoon's inception, Tina and Wayne have been catering to businesses in the area for their breakfast and lunch needs. While our specialty is international cuisine, our shop features high grade, gluten free deli meats. Taking that one step further, Wayne and Tina are determined to take their Philly Cheesesteaks, Grilled Paninis and Hoagies to a new level by creating unique gourmet sauces to please the most demanding palate.

Don't sleep on this place!! Fabulous food. I mean outta this world amazing!! Great prices and service. kid friendly. The Egg Bacon Panwhich is the best. My 3 and 6 yr old loved it and wanted more. Thanks Wooden Spoon for a great experience.

Had breakfast there with my dad! Friendly cozy environment and they just kept filling my coffee which I appreciate bc I can down a lot of coffee. I also love supporting my local businesses. This place gets my 2 thumbs up.

What a great little place. I eat here often and love the breakfast burritos. So much better than any other breakfast place on the Kansas side I've been to. The owners are always there and very nice and friendly. And their sandwiches are good too.
